According to the police, to carry out her plan, she enlisted the help of Saraswathi ( 40), a nurse working at a private clinic. The nurse collected the blood from a HIV positive woman she knew.

The duo along with another woman, Kanmani, kidnapped Sathya on June 24 in a car and took her to Puliancholai, a tourist spot 50 km from Trichy. On the way, Sathya was offered a soft drink mixed with sedatives.

The trio then attempted to inject the infected blood but failed as it had clotted.

They then warned the girl against marrying Kumaramatheswaran, and dropped the traumatised teenager in Trichy.

Sathya narrated the whole episode to her parents last week after keeping it a secret for two months.
