Wolters Kluwer acquires environment and energy titles from Cutter.


As with Wicks Business Information (see above), Wolters Kluwer Wolters Kluwer N.V. (Euronext: WKL) is a leading global information services and publishing company. The company provides products and services for professionals in the health, tax, accounting, corporate, financial services, legal and regulatory, and education sectors.  North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  has been quite acquisitive this year. Last month it bought Strafford Publications' accounting line, which became part of the company's New York-based Aspen Publishers (NL/NL 12/3/01).

Now Wolters Kluwer has acquired Cutter Environment, a division of Cutter Information Corp., Arlington, Mass. The division, which publishes newsletters and special reports, will be integrated into Aspen Publishers.

Terms of the agreement were not released.

Cutter Environment publications include Energy Design Update, Oil Spill Intelligence Report, Global Environmental Change Report, Business and the Environment, as well as special reports and topical annual reports on related topics.

With the acquisition, Aspen said it "will further leverage its positions in key vertical markets." Other Aspen titles on related topics are RCRA RCRA Resource Conservation & Recovery Act of 1976
