Wither or grow?.Dear editor, It's interesting how for three consecutive years my Anglican Church of Canada has ended with a deficit. And was it not about three years ago that part of the church began to allow the blessing of homosexual homosexual /ho·mo·sex·u·al/ (-sek´shoo-al) 1. pertaining to, characteristic of, or directed toward the same sex. 2. one who is sexually attracted to persons of the same sex. unions? Strangely the connection was missed on the front-page article. At the end the June editorial, entitled en·ti·tle tr.v. en·ti·tled, en·ti·tling, en·ti·tles 1. To give a name or title to. 2. To furnish with a right or claim to something: Council and church need to ask hard questions, it says ultimately some things will have to go, well I wonder if that meant we could get rid of blessing homosexual unions (which the Scriptures speak against) and avoid the atrophy atrophy (ăt`rəfē), diminution in the size of a cell, tissue, or organ from its fully developed normal size. Temporary atrophy may occur in muscles that are not used, as when a limb is encased in a plaster cast. within the church, maybe even get an increase in revenue to the programs we are otherwise cutting. Perhaps the editorial meant we should cut back all the church's functions because some principles are more important than all that Christianity stuff.
