A bride is a female participant in a wedding ceremony: a woman about to be married, currently being married, or, in some uses, very recently married.

Gary Collins and his new wife Debra Lally left their wedding party and headed to their local polling station in Dungarvan, Co Waterford. Debra said she was shocked to hear the Referendum referendum, referral of proposed laws or constitutional amendments to the electorate for final approval. This direct form of legislation, along with the initiative, was known in Greece and other early democracies.  was clashing with her wedding.

But she added: "There was never any doubt we were going to vote. How can you comment on how the country is run if you have not voted?"
