4. Rule Out "Distractors"

Many answer choices are "distractors," designed to mislead mis·lead

 you. SAT questions proceed from easiest to most difficult in that order. Difficult questions often contain distractors designed to trap students with answers that seem right at first glance. Don't fall for distractors, especially on the last few difficult questions in each section.

5. Plug It In

This is a very valuable strategy you can use on the Math section, especially on long word problems involving algebra. Substituting numbers instead of variables or symbols makes abstract problems easier to solve.
