Kevin Graham of Woolsington Labour Party's attack on the council on the issue of street wardens needs to be exposed as pre-election point-scoring (Your Shout, March 20).

While Lib Dem LIB DEM Liberal Democrat(s) (UK political party)  councillors voted against Labour's budget wish list earlier this month, people should be aware that Labour's financial proposals would have resulted in a black hole in the city council's finances.

It claimed it would pay for major spending commitments by significantly increasing council borrowing ( but failed to account for the additional interest payments this would generate.

Unlike Labour, the Lib Dems have achieved a record of sound financial management at the council.

I urge Newcastle voters not to be taken in by Kevin and the Labour spin machine.
