WiseBand Communications Ltd. Announces WISE-800 -- Industry's First Fully Digital ADLC Based Ultralinear Multi Carrier Power Amplifier For Cellular Base-Stations.

HERZELIA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1999--

WiseBand Communications Ltd. today announced the introduction of WISE-800, industry's first fully DSP-based ultralinear Multi-Carrier Power Amplifier for cellular networks.

WISE-800 is an 80-Watt MCPA MCPA, MCP

2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid; a weedkiller reported to be nontoxic at the levels likely to be encountered on pasture, though it has killed cattle dosed experimentally with large single doses.
, supporting both digital (CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) A method for transmitting simultaneous signals over a shared portion of the spectrum. The foremost application of CDMA is the digital cellular phone technology from QUALCOMM that operates in the 800 MHz band and 1.9 GHz PCS band.  and TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) A satellite and cellular phone technology that interleaves multiple digital signals onto a single high-speed channel. For cellular, TDMA triples the capacity of the original analog method (FDMA). ) and analog (AMPS) cellular standards in the 869-894 MHz frequency band. WISE-800 supports configurations of up to four modules, and enables operators to deploy scalable, redundant high-power solutions with total power output of up to 300 Watts with unprecedented efficiency figures (higher than 10%). WISE-800 handles any number of input signals and is ideally suited for both micro and macro-cell applications with clear benefits to operators over existing solutions.

WISE-800 will be demonstrated for the first time at the PCS (1) (Personal Communications Services) Refers to wireless services that emerged after the U.S. government auctioned commercial licenses in 1994 and 1995. This radio spectrum in the 1.  '99 show, September 22-24, 1999, in New Orleans, in the WiseBand booth (No. 4659).

WISE-800 is based on a unique Adaptive Digital Linearizer Core (ADLC ADLC Alberta Distance Learning Centre (Alberta, Canada0

(R)) design that provides superior performance and higher reliability in dynamic signal environments. ADLC, the proprietary DSP (1) (Digital Signal Processor) A special-purpose CPU used for digital signal processing applications (see definition #2 below). It provides ultra-fast instruction sequences, such as shift and add, and multiply and add, which are commonly used in math-intensive  technology for the feed-forward architecture, lies at the heart of the WISE-800 amplifier. This patent-pending technology is the common engine for other members of the WiseBand product family supporting additional frequency bands and standards soon to follow. Unlike other MCPAs without ADLC, the DSP algorithm utilized by WISE-800 is able to continuously correct RF distortion, thus relaxing the tight requirements normally imposed on the RF hardware design and virtually eliminating labor intensive and costly tuning. This process also ensures optimal operation of the amplifier throughout its life in the field, with significantly lower operating and maintenance costs.
