WIRELESS NETWORK DEAL. Meru Networks Meru Networks is a privately-owned company wireless networking company catering to medium and large enterprises. Meru's products include wireless access points, controllers, and management software. (based in Sunnyvale, Calif.),
a leader in in wireless VoIP See voice over Wi-Fi. infrastructure, on Feb. 6 announced that
Sawtel Inc., a Satellite and Wireless Telecommunications company See telecom company. , has
chosen Meru Networks for an island-wide Wi-Fi deployment in the Bahamas.
Sawtel Inc. will implement the Meru solution, to ensure a converged
voice, data and video services to both business and residential users
across the island of Nassau. The voice services will give users access
to hosted IP PBX, PBX (Private Branch eXchange) An inhouse telephone switching system that interconnects telephone extensions to each other as well as to the outside telephone network (PSTN). Enhanced Services and IP Centrex applications,
