Wire & Cable Compounds Are Crosslinked With Moisture.

A new family of moisture-crosslinkable polyethylene polyethylene (pŏl'ēĕth`əlēn), widely used plastic. It is a polymer of ethylene, CH2=CH2, having the formula (-CH2-CH2-)n  copolymers is offered by Houston-based Equistar Chemicals, LP, for low-voltage power-cable insulation. These Aquathene products are directly polymerized copolymers of ethylene ethylene (ĕth`əlēn') or ethene (ĕth`ēn), H2C=CH2, a gaseous unsaturated hydrocarbon. It is the simplest alkene.  and vinylsilane.

Aquathene AQ 120-000 is a natural-color resin resin, any of a class of amorphous solids or semisolids. Resins are found in nature and are chiefly of vegetable origin. They are typically light yellow to dark brown in color; tasteless; odorless or faintly aromatic; translucent or transparent; brittle, fracturing . Aquathene CM 92949 is a uv-stable masterbatch of 28% N 110 carbon black. Aquathene CM 04482 is a crosslinking catalyst masterbatch. Typical cable insulation for service-entrance applications (UL 854) would contain 86% AQ 120-000, 9% CM 92949, and 5% CM 04482.

These products can be processed on standard thermoplastic A polymer material that turns to liquid when heated and becomes solid when cooled. There are more than 40 types of thermoplastics, including acrylic, polypropylene, polycarbonate and polyethylene.  extruders.
