Winternals Software's Administrator's Pak 5.0 Provides Comprehensive Windows System Repair and Data Recovery Functionality.


AUSTIN, Texas -- Product Suite Includes Improved ERD Commander 2005 and Remote Recover, Expanded Diagnostics and Troubleshooting Capabilities

Winternals Software(R), a leading provider of Microsoft(R) systems recovery and data protection solutions, today announced the release of Administrator's Pak(TM) 5.0, a suite of Winternals' ten most popular system repair, data recovery, and troubleshooting products for Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking. (R)/2000(R)/XP(R)/Server 2003(R). The Administrator's Pak provides full access to a damaged or unbootable system from a familiar Windows-like environment, and supplies the tools needed to quickly diagnose and repair system failures.

About Administrator's Pak 5.0

The Administrator's Pak consists of ten separate tools available on one CD: ERD Commander(TM) 2005, NTFSDOS Professional(TM), Remote Recover(TM), FileRestore(TM), Filemon Enterprise Edition(TM), Regmon Enterprise Edition(TM), TCP (1) (Transmission Control Protocol) The reliable transport protocol within the TCP/IP protocol suite. TCP ensures that all data arrive accurately and 100% intact at the other end.  Tools(TM), and -- new for version 5.0 -- Insight for Active Directory(TM), AD Explorer(TM), and Crash Analyzer Wizard(TM).

The individual tools of the Administrator's Pak each have unique capabilities that combine into an inclusive Windows repair and recovery suite able to address the specific challenges regularly encountered by systems administrators. For example, these tools can edit the registry settings that prevent systems from booting, copy files from a dead system to removable media In computer storage, removable media refers to storage media which can be removed from its reader device, conferring portability on the data it carries. --Insight for Active Directory - pinpoints the precise causes of application and service failures resulting from AD configuration, corruption, and communication issues

--AD Explorer - browse the Active Directory to find, modify, add, and delete objects and attributes

--Crash Analyzer Wizard - diagnose and analyze the cause of a Windows crash dump

--ERD Commander 2005 - redesigned to include even more diagnostics and repair tools

--Hotfix Uninstall To remove hardware or software from a computer system. In order to remove a software application from a PC, an uninstall program, also called an "uninstaller," deletes all the files that were initially copied to the hard disk and restores the AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, WIN.INI and SYSTEM.  - remove a hotfix or service pack that's preventing a system from booting

--System File Repair - ensures that key Windows files are not corrupt

--DiskWipe - securely erases disks or volumes, with either single pass or four pass verification

--Autoruns - view applications that launch at Windows start or user log-in, even on unbootable machines
