Winternals Defrag Manager Deployed to Sharp HealthCare Enterprise.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Winternals Software(R), a leading provider of systems recovery and protection solutions for the Microsoft enterprise, today announced that Sharp HealthCare has purchased and deployed Winternals Defrag Manager(R) to its 10,000 system Windows enterprise. The product is being utilized to boost performance and extend the lifecycle of systems at multiple sites throughout the healthcare provider's network.

Sharp HealthCare is an integrated regional health care delivery system based in San Diego that includes four acute-care hospitals, three specialty hospitals, and three medical groups. Sharp has more than 14,000 employees and represents $1 billion in assets and $1.4 billion in revenue.

Daniel Covell, Senior Systems Analyst for Sharp Healthcare, expects Defrag Manager to contribute to the effectiveness of Sharp's IT infrastructure, which he said is imperative to the success of the organization.

"Healthcare is reliant on IT because it's a 24x7 operation, and optimally performing computers are a crucial component of this operation. Sharp decided that better performance could be achieved by implementing an enterprise defragmentation solution. The company evaluated a couple of products before selecting the Winternals solution. During testing Defrag Manager was able to significantly reduce system startup times.
