Winter Olympic Games. (When and Where?).
WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES
The modern Olympic Games began in 1896 and have been held every four
years except during the two world wars. Separate Winter Olympic Games
started in 1924 and until 1994 were held in the same year as the Summer
Olympics. To focus more attention on the Winter Games, it was decided
that beginning in 1994, the Winter Games would be held on a different
four-year cycle. Check out the dates and places on the chart.
