Winstar supports NYSE network.

Winstar Communications recently announced that it has agreed to support the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as the only fixed wireless broadband service provider for the next-generation NYSE Common Access Point (NYSE CAP) Extranet network. Winstar will provide the NYSE and its customers with high-bandwidth connectivity, establishing a direct link to the NYSE's business services.

At the launch of the NYSE CAP program, Winstar will offer secure, fully-scalable broadband wireless connections between the NYSE's hosting facilities and the various NYSE customers. Eventually, Winstar will support additional network-based broadband service offerings, including frame relay, ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) and Internet services.

Winstar, along with a number of other major terrestrial carriers, will support several new NYSE programs that will be delivered through the NYSE CAP, including NYSE Direct, eBroker, Institutional XPress, Front End Systemic Capture (FESC) and TCP/IP connectivity to FIX and CMS message interfaces used to send electronic orders to the NYSE point-of-sale via SuperDot. NYSE CAP also supports existing services such as the remote delivery of the Exchange's Broker Booth Support System (BBSS) and the delivery of customer's proprietary applications to the trading floor.
