Winners of services to NZNO and service to nursing and midwifery awards announced at conference.


As well as the Award of Honour, NZNO's other awards--for services to NZNO NZNO New Zealand Nurses Organisation  and for services to nursing and midwifery--were also announced at conference. Recipients of Service to NZNO awards were:

Anne Daniels, Glyn Havill and Marion Partington, all nominated by Midlands Regional Council; Joanne West, Paula Barnett and Bonnie Home, all nominated by Greater Auckland Regional Council The Auckland Regional Council (ARC) is one of the elected local government authorities of the Auckland Region. Its current chairman is Mike Lee, together with 12 other Councillors. The ARC was created as the successor of the Auckland Regional Authority. ; Kay Hodson, nominated by Central Regional Council; and Petrina Boyd, nominated by Top of the South Regional Council. Recipients of NZNO's Service to Nursing and Midwifery midwifery (mĭd`wī'fərē), art of assisting at childbirth. The term midwife for centuries referred to a woman who was an overseer during the process of delivery. In ancient Greece and Rome, these women had some formal training.  awards were: Jane Lawless, John Parker The name John Parker may refer to any of these people:
  • John Parker (Captain), (1729–1775), captain of minutemen in Battle of Lexington and Concord
  • John Parker (delegate), (1758–1832), South Carolina delegate to the Continental Congress (1786-1788)
, Rosemary Minto and Anne Daniels.
