Winners of 19th Annual CRMA Awards Announced; Texas Monthly's Levy awarded R.R. Donnelley Lifetime Achievement Award.

City and Regional Magazine Association Awards

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 2004

Twenty-three magazines took home awards at the 19th annual City and Regional Magazine Association (CRMA) Awards competition on June 7th. Los Angeles Magazine was the big winner with nine awards while Boston Magazine and Texas Monthly each took home eight awards.

The prestigious R.R. Donnelley Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Michael R. Levy, founder and publisher of Texas Monthly.


 Gold award winners for General Excellence included:

-- Texas Monthly (circulation greater than 60,000 category)
-- Milwaukee Magazine (circulation between 30,000 and 60,000 category)
-- Aspen Magazine (circulation less than 30,000 category)

 Silver award winners for General Excellence included:

-- Boston Magazine (circulation greater than 60,000 category)
-- HOUR Detroit (circulation between 30,000 and 60,000 category)
-- Cincinnati (circulation less than 30,000 category)

 Bronze award winners for General Excellence included:

-- San Francisco Magazine (circulation greater than 60,000 category)
-- Virginia Living (circulation between 30,000 and 60,000 category)
-- At Home in Arkansas (circulation less than 30,000 category)



The University of Missouri School of Journalism and the CRMA coordinate judging for the competition, which is open to CRMA members as well as other city and regional magazines that qualify.

CRMA member publications are located in virtually every major market in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and have a combined circulation of 4.7 million readers who have over $115 billion in disposable income.
