Coronado is across the bay. , 1999 Silver Medal, Best in Class, in the Major Manufacturer Category of the U.S. Senate Productivity Award will host a "best practice" benchmarking site visit for members and invitees of the Center for Continuous Improvement Technologies (CCIT See ITU. ) and California Council for Quality and Service (CCQS CCQS Centralized Charge Quotation Service ) on March 23, 2000.

Site visit attendees will have the opportunity to gain useful best practice ideas from this award-winning company.

NADEP in San Diego is the largest aerospace employer in San Diego County, generating over $400 million in annual revenue and employing over 3,600 civilian and 73 military employees. In 1999, NADEP was awarded its third Silver Medal, Best in Class, in the Major Manufacturer category of the U.S. Senate Productivity Award.

Last year, eleven of 20 NADEP manufacturing processes submitted for comparison to private industry and government facilities by the Navy's Best Manufacturing Practices Center of Excellence were declared "Best in Class". This site visit will provide an in-depth look at why this company's F/A-18 center barrel repair capability was selected as one of the aforementioned a·fore·men·tioned
