on one of the most exclusive buildings in the Big Apple. More recently, however, a documentary covering not only the hawks but also the devoted birders who follow their every move has appeared, along with newscasts; and just last year, there was a much-protested removal of the hawks' nest (since replaced). This updated edition goes into even greater depth than all that reporting, covering years of incidents with the "Regulars" (birders in Central Park who note all the comings and going of all the birds). The Regulars have a bird register, noting the species seen, and Winn's work turns that into an extended and readable read·a·ble
