This action-packed novel in the contemporary/futuristic military genre starts fast and picks up speed. It is full of technical jargon. mind-boggling equipment, and almost unbelievable secret weapons. Assassinations. political intrigue, and obvious greed come together in this carefully abridged story of good vs. evil. Brown's fans will recognize characters from former stories, but now there is an "ex" in front of their earlier titles. Ex-general Patrick McClanahan, who was railroaded out of the Air Force, heads a paramilitary unit Noun 1. paramilitary unit - a group of civilians organized in a military fashion (especially to operate in place of or to assist regular army troops)
