Windows Compatibility Solutions Now Available for Complete Power Macintosh 7100 Family; New Reply DOS on Power Mac Card supports Power Mac 7100/80.


SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 1995--Reply Corporation today announced the newest member of the DOS on Power Mac family, providing the fastest, most affordable way to run DOS and Windows on an Apple Power Macintosh 7100/80. With this announcement, Reply now provides cross-platform solutions for the entire Power Macintosh 7100 family, in addition to the popular Reply DOS on Mac card An early PC add-in card for the Macintosh from Reply Corporation, San Jose, CA. It included a CPU and installed into the Mac's PDS slot, providing true DOS and Windows operation within the Mac.  for Apple Quadra and Centris systems.

(hardware) Processor Direct Slot - (PDS) Apple Computer's name for a local bus connection. Most Macintoshes have only one PDS connector. Different Apple computers have different PDS specifications.
 (PDS (1) (Processor Direct Slot) A single expansion slot on certain, early Macintosh models that was used to connect high-speed peripherals as well as additional CPUs. Providing a channel directly to the CPU, the PDS coexisted with NuBus slots on some models. ) of the system to gain maximum throughput, will expand upon the capabilities of the Reply DOS on Mac card. The latest 486DX2/66, 486DX4/100, Pentium OverDrive processors and optional L2 cache will deliver increased performance. The addition of an optional parallel port and second serial port provide increased flexibility for Apple and PC/AT-compatible peripherals.
