Winners will be determined and announced at MEC 2002 in Anaheim, Calif., on October 10.

"The field included 174 entries and the selection process was rigorous. We chose finalists based on the product's strategic importance to the market, its competitive advantages and the value to the customer. A total of 23 companies and 26 products were chosen as finalists," said Mike Otey, Senior Technical Editor for Windows & .NET Magazine Magazine.

The following companies were picked as finalists. The Management category finalists are BindView Corporation's bv-Admin for Microsoft Exchange, Heroix Corporation's Heroix eQ Management Suite, Discus Data Solutions' ExMS Directory Integrity Agent, Hewlett-Packard's HP Management Solutions for Windows, and Microsoft Corporation's Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 (MOM). The Mobility category finalists are Synchrologic's Synchrologic Email Accelerator, Interactive Intelligence's Mobilite, Bindview Corporation's bv-Admin Mobile, Fenestrae Fenestrae (singular: fenestra) are small pores in epithelial cells to allow for rapid exchange of molecules between blood vessels and surrounding tissue. These pores can enlarge and contract at the action of various stimuli such as noradrenaline.  B.V.'s Fenestrae Enterprise Mobility Server, and Sonic Mobility's Sonicadmin.
