Wind River tool support for Linux.


Wind River Systems is extending its hardware bring-up tools to include support for Linux. Customers can obtain run control and debugging tools that work with WIND RIVER PLATFORMS, VxWorks and embedded Linux The Linux operating system configured and enhanced to work in a wide variety of applications, including handheld devices, network appliances, industrial machines and consumer electronics devices. The modularity of the Linux kernel makes it well suited to embedded systems. .visionPROBE II is immediately available for the IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  PowerPC 405 family which by providing visibility and access to both the virtual and physical address space, enables developers to track Linux virtual access and to control their physical peripherals and memory. Additionally, with its automated boot line feature, the Wind River solution allows developers to run their Linux kernel The nucleus of the Linux operating system.
