Mississauga (pronounced: [ˌmɪsɪˈsɑgə] listen
-- WinMagic[R] Inc. (www.winmagic.com), the innovative leader in full-disk encryption, today launched a German version of its SecureDoc 4.2 full-disk encryption solution. Developed in response to increased demand from its German, Austrian, and Swiss channel partners and customers, the German version includes the full SecureDoc software, SecureDoc Enterprise Server, and a complete set of manuals to make it simple for German enterprises to protect internal, partner, and customer data - even on easily-stolen mobile devices which the FBI estimates are responsible for 50 percent of network breaches.

Ideal for Europe's increasingly-mobile workforce, WinMagic's SecureDoc full-disk encryption protects all data on desktops, laptops, and handheld devices by encrypting the entire hard drive at all times. SecureDoc's 'install-and-forget' preboot design simply replaces the Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT MSFT Microsoft (stock symbol)

protection that is totally transparent to the user, but also prevent intruders bypassing the encryption level.

Additionally, SecureDoc's preboot design makes it simple to integrate full-disk encryption with multi-factor authentication, such as smart cards, tokens, biometric devices, and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) A framework for creating a secure method for exchanging information based on public key cryptography. The foundation of a PKI is the certificate authority (CA), which issues digital certificates that authenticate the identity of  authentication technologies before the operating system brings up the log-on screen.
