Win boosts build-up to trip.

Lucky brickie Ian Davies was jumping for joy when he bagged pounds 500 in the Echo's bingo competition.

But wife Sian won't see a penny of the cash - her hubby's spending the lot on a boozy trip to Benidorm with the lads.

'The cash has come at a great time for me - loads of us are going abroad for my mate's stag do in June, so I'm spending all of it on having a great time,' said Ian, 31.

Ian's first crack at the Echo's game bagged him the top prize, and the builder, who is working in Newport at the moment, says he's thanking his lucky stars.

'At least I don't have to save for the holiday any more,' he said.

'The win was really great news - I'm just glad I read the Echo!'

Ian and 27-year-old Sian live in Llanharan.
