Incredibly enough, it is the first album released in conjunction with the BBC's Songs Of Praise programme.

It is also the first time that the theme tune - one of the most recognisable on British TV - has ever been available on a recording.

It was created by King Henry VI, who founded the College in 1441, to provide daily singing in his glorious Chapel, which , Lesley Garrett and Cliff Richard and the Songs Of Praise Album with its two CDs - out this week - is sure to be in big demand.

The programme, which has been in the air since October 1961, regularly attracts over four million viewers and has the capacity to give a huge boost to the record sales of its stars.
