Williams-Sonoma, Inc. Announces the Opening of Pottery Barn Bed and Bath Stores.

Retail Stores Opening in Orlando, New York, and Portland

SAN FRANCISCO -- Williams-Sonoma, Inc. (NYSE:WSM), announced today that it will expand its Pottery Barn Bed and Bath concept by opening the first three Pottery Barn Bed and Bath retail stores this November. Two are stand-alone stores (Orlando, FL and New York, NY) and one is adjacent to an existing Pottery Barn store (Portland, OR). The new retail concept opened in Orlando, Florida on November 4th, and will debut in New York, NY on November 10th and in Portland, Oregon on November 18th. Opening day festivities at each location include a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00 am as well as a complimentary scented votive candle for the first 750 customers who visit the store.

Since the Pottery Barn Bed and Bath concept launched in 2000, it has been a catalog and ecommerce business, offering customers a wide assortment of casual, comfortable furnishings for the bedroom and bathroom. Now, products that were previously available only through the catalog and website will be available at the retail stores, solidifying Pottery Barn Bed and Bath's position as a respected multi-channel retailer. The renowned Thomas O'Brien of Aero Studios designed the Pottery Barn Bed and Bath stores, in collaboration with Pottery Barn's in-house design team. "We wanted the store to feel as if you were stepping into someone's home by incorporating traditional residential elements throughout the space," says Thomas O'Brien. "You can see this classic look in the detailing of the crown molding, bevel-board paneling, deep brown oak flooring and white grained cabinets."

The Pottery Barn Bed and Bath stores range from 5,500 to 9,500 square feet and feature multiple bedroom and bathroom vignettes. Each vignette is designed to give the customer a sense of being in a real bathroom or bedroom. The bathroom vignettes are a first for Pottery Barn, as each one is outfitted with sink consoles topped with Carrara marble, distinct tiling on the floors and walls, bathroom fixtures, bath linens and coordinating accessories. This lifestyle approach appears for the first time in a retail store outside of specialty design showrooms and high-end bathroom retailers.

In addition to the bedroom vignettes, the bedding section of the store will showcase the new Mix and Match Bedding collection -- duvets, sheet sets, bed skirts, quilts, and blankets in five coordinating patterns and colors -- to allow customers to coordinate their own bedding ensembles. The Pottery Barn Bed and Bath stores will also offer a complete assortment of Bedding Basics - down comforters, pillows, mattress pads, and bed skirts - that are essentials for any bed. Both collections are part of the brand's core assortment making them ideal choices for a Wedding & Gift Registry. A registry kiosk is available in store and associates are trained to assist with the registry process.
