and one of the last survivors from New York's old publishing and printing district. Built in 1885-86 with an addition in 1892-93, it occupies the entire block bounded by Lafayette, East Houston, Mulberry and Jersey Streets.

Immediately recognizable by its larger-than-life statue of Puck at the corner of Mulberry and East Houston - one of the city's best-known works of architectural sculpture - and the smaller Puck statue atop the Lafayette Street entrance, The Puck Building is the original home of Puck magazine, once New York's best-known humor magazine, and later the headquarters of Spy, the satiric monthly. Once described as the largest building in the world devoted to the publishing industry in an 1892 guidebook, The Puck Building also housed the firm which produced lithographs of Puck's famous cartoons lampooning politics and fads of the day.

The Puck Building also features outstanding party and catering facilities, with a 19,000-square-foot ballroom/reception space on the first floor and an 8,000-square-foot ballroom on the seventh floor. Old World-style features include architectural columns, huge arched windows, vaulted ceilings and an attended elevator, in addition to three modern elevators.

Stephen Schofel, director of Williams, and Melissa Bazar of Williams is leasing agent.

"There is an abundance of sunlight and wonderful views from the building, whose current tenants include the newspaper New York Press Coordinates:

Available space ranges in size up to 10,000 square feet. Designed as a seven-story building with a nine-story addition several years later by the German-born architect Albert Wagner, the building features arches of varying widths within bays of equal width, cast-iron window framing, statuary stat·u·ar·y
