William "Bill" McGinnis, CPA.


William "Bill" McGinnis, CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000. , a former San Joaquin San Joaquin (săn wäkēn`), river, c.320 mi (510 km) long, rising in the Sierra Nevada, E Calif., and flowing W then N through the S Central Valley to form a large delta with the Sacramento River near Suisun Bay, an arm of San Francisco Bay.  Chapter president, died Oct. 10, 2005. He was 64. McGinnis, a 24-year CPA, served as the San Joaquin Chapter president in 1994.

, McGinnis graduated from CSU-Stanislaus with a bachelor's degree in accounting and joined Modesto-based Dunker & Aced, specializing in audit and tax work.

A veteran of the Air Force, McGinnis also volunteered his time with the Salvation Army Salvation Army, Protestant denomination and international nonsectarian Christian organization for evangelical and philanthropic work. Organization and Beliefs

He is survived by his children, Dennis Walker, Susan Crespo and Teri McGinnis; brothers, Richard McGinnis and Robert Whitsell; sister, Barbara Sullivan; and three grandchildren.
