The series of images (http://www.maxi-geek.com/2012/08/wii-u-marketing-kicks-in-round-australia.html) surfaced on Maximum Geek on Thursday. The user who uploaded the photos says he took them at the Nintendo Experience at EB Games and has seen other stores with these items.
The advertisement does not reveal the (http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/354933/20120621/wii-u-release-date-price-specs-nintendo.htm) official release date for the Wii U, but says "New from Nintendo Coming 2012," urging fans to pre-order. Some of the text on the back of the alleged (http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/371257/20120807/wii-u-release-games-list-price-leaked.htm) Wii U box is hard to make out since the image is a little blurry at certain points, but that is the overall list of specs. There are also photos of the packaging for the Wii U Pro Controller, which looks similar to Microsoft's Xbox 360 controller.
The retail advertisements did not reveal any information about the Wii U's price, but the cost is believed to be announced in September, (http://www.tgdaily.com/games-and-entertainment-brief/64994-wii-u-price-expected-in-september) according to TG Daily .
"It is tough to pinpoint any type of expectation when Nintendo themselves are being incredibly vague about it," EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich said to TG Daily. "Considering the potential for PS3/Xbox 360 price cuts this holiday, it is understandable that they are keeping their cards close to their chest."
Earlier this week it was also reported that pre-orders for the Wii U will allegedly begin next week for a "Black Friday" release in November. This information comes from a GameStop employee who reportedly spoke with Go Nintendo, (http://www.gamezone.com/products/wii-u/news/wii-u-pre-orders-allegedly-begin-next-week-for-supposed-november-black-friday-release) as GameZone reports .
Until Nintendo makes an official announcement, it the release date and price of the Wii U are uncertain. The console is (http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/367303/20120726/wii-u-release-date-price-usa-specs.htm) expected to push out between 4 million and 5 million units during the Wii U launch window, experts say.
