The race consists of eight heats with the finalist from each trail advancing to the final race. The victor of the final race will be crowned the "2002 Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals Top Dog," and earn his or her owner a $500 prize. Total purse for the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals is $1,000; $500 for first including Wienerschnitzel doghouse, $200 for second and $50 for third through eighth place.
