Funk Software Odyssey Client helps companies minimize Wi-Fi deployment and support costs and increase wireless security. Pre-configuration tools let network managers roll out WLAN security and connection settings to all clients, without any user involvement. Auto-scan network lists let users move between networks that have different security settings (such as the office network and a hotspot network). The system is based on 802.1x, an authentication framework for 802.11 networks that lets a central authority control user authentication.

In addition to the client software, the system requires an 802.1 x-compliant network interface card on the mobile device, an 802.1x-compliant access point, and a Radius server. The Odyssey Client comes in editions for Windows XP/ME/2000/98 and Pocket PC. US$S0 per client; volume discounts available.
