Why You Have to Keep Your Cosmetics Container Clean

Cosmetics are one of the greatest splurges that a woman can have in a year. Thousands are spent to purchase various cosmetics products ranging from lipstick to eyeshadows, foundations to blush-ons and so on and so forth, and you will find most of their cosmetic containers just a little less than a make-up shop. The most popular manufacturers of cosmetics all try to come out with the best new products to launch every now and then, to lure the moden woman into another cosmetic-hunt trip to the department store. Truly, it is the woman''s car and techie magazine. And as guys will never complain about how expensive a certain power tool set is, girls will never raise their eyebrows over a single cosmetic that is a little costly.

Girls learn to put on make up as early as their teen years. As early as before 16, they should''ve already been exposed to shrieking over the make-up of their favorite female celebrities, and try to make their faces up on their own. And although they start with fumbling over an eyeliner worn somewhat higher over the lids, or eyeshadows or lipsticks that did not match their eye colors, or blush-ons that were way too rosy to pass off as a clown, they had to learn somewhere. In these years of make-up discovery and prom nights, they were able to start little collections of make up that they would keep inside their cosmetics container for use when they need it. We all started there, and fast forward to where we are now, they are not just little make-up collections anymore, they are vast collections of make-up procured from the most popular make-up brands that we can''t get enough of.

But to take into account how often you change your make-up is also take into account how long your cosmetic container has been with you. Were they still the same one you had in High School? Were they somewhat with you for more than 5-10 years? Have you had time to clean them periodically, or have you cleaned them at all? To answer these questions, may be in fact, a matter of life or death... not for you, but for the bacteria that may have accumulated inside that overused, barely-cleaned and old cosmetics container that you still have. If they have been with you for more than 5 years or since High School or you haven''t cleaned them at all since you purchased them, then you are in big trouble. If you haven''t had bad skin rashes or some unexplainable skin irritations yet, don''t be so nonchalant about it. Unclean cosmetics containers can be as alarming as dirty kitchen tables.

So what makes an unclean cosmetics container a cause for red alert? Years of make-up stock, use and reuse, and also dirt infiltration in your make-up kit can cause bacteria build up in it. Bacterias such as Staphylococcus Warneri and epi, and also Bacillus Sphaericus, may be unwelcomed visitors that live with your make up. Not only does this refer to the kit itself, but also the brushes, the applicators, the make-up bottles and plastics that are inside of it. If we don''t clean them often, the chances are they have been contaminated.
