Why I Am A Slave You Ask?

Why I Am A Slave You Ask?

Because I heard it from my chromosomes
They tell me I am herded like cattle
And bound hand and foot in fetters of steel.

I travelled for many days and nights, and
Without much to eat or drink
Made it to the belly of ships, that waited.

To transport my being to places far beyond
To separate my body from my soul
To end my thoughts and ways of perception.

My masters needed me to bow to their evil doings
and tried to devoid me of the knowledge of God
But God in his mercy forever stayed with me.

Through all the centuries past, present, and
Future to come I have lost myself, and found myself
After many perilous times, and consider myself
   blest.
