Florence will mark the 10th anniversary of its Chowder, Blues & Brews Festival this weekend with two days of music, food, foam at the Florence Events Center. Contributing to the festival's 10th birthday is the "best music lineup we've had in years," festival chairwoman Lynette Wickstrom said. Friday's headliner is Paul deLay Paul Joseph deLay (b. January 31 1952, Portland, Oregon - d. March 7 2007, Portland, Oregon), was an American blues vocalist and harmonicist. DeLay's musical career[1] ; Saturday's is Curtis Salgado Curtis Salgado is a Portland, Oregon-based Blues, R&B, and Soul singer-songwriter-musician. "I've been involved in Chowder, Blues & Brews for five of the past eight years," Wickstrom said, "and I hadn't listened to the Oregon Lab Band until last year. I was impressed with those kids. They were quite good.' The lineup also will include Ellen Whyte, Walker T Ryan, J.C. The festival also will feature other food options, including barbecue, shrimp, crab specialties and a variety of finger foods. On the brews front, the festival will pour offerings from the Pelican Pub and Brewery in Pacific City, Rogue Ales of Newport, Wakanda Brewing Co. of Florence and Deschutes Brewery of Bend. Perhaps the best thing about the festival is that it's indoors, and out of any nasty weather. `I would love to do it outside, but you just never know about the weather this time of year,' Wickstrom said.
