Who's to blame?

Most people who come to the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America.  are ones that would crack down on the companies that hire them. So the Business Journal asks:

Should the government take action against companies that hire illegal immigrants illegal immigrant n. an alien (non-citizen) who has entered the United States without government permission or stayed beyond the termination date of a visa. (See: alien) ?

I do think the government should be holding companies responsible if they are caught hiring illegal or undocumented workers. That doesn't mean these people should not be working for us at all. They should be listed as undocumented workers. If they are here for a long period of time, without documentation then it is wrong. If it is two or three days then there is nothing wrong with that. There are a lot of people in this country who have come from other places legally to work here. It would be unfair to them if illegal workers are doing jobs that they should have. Companies should turn in information about undocumented workers to the right agencies, if they find any

Yes, I think companies should be held accountable by the government for hiring illegal workers. The main reason is that they are the ones doing the hiring, ff they hire someone knowing that the person does not have the necessary paperwork to be employed, they are committing a crime. But if the workers show paperwork that looks genuine then the company can't help but hire. But maybe some companies don't have that standard where they hire only citizens.

Currently companies are required to obtain the correct paperwork before hiring anyone. I do believe companies should be held accountable for hiring undocumented workers. Overall we still need to make a decision around illegal immigration. California's economy functions and thrives because of these illegal workers who are ready to do many menial MENIAL. Motives for immigration, like those for migration generally, are often economic, although religious or political factors may be very important.  question should be answered soon, and we should find out if hiring illegal workers is the only way to provide sufficient labor to perform many functions. But until these questions are answered, the government should hold businesses responsible if they are seen hiring illegal workers.

I remember when they granted amnesty amnesty (ăm`nəstē), in law, exemption from prosecution for criminal action. It signifies forgiveness and the forgetting of past actions.  to illegals long ago. We had a handful of them even in our company who went through that process. I do think the government should hold companies here and nationwide accountable if they employ illegal workers. There has to be some structure, some enforcement of the law. Illegal is illegal. Even if you look up the word in the dictionary, the description is pretty cut and dry. But deportation deportation, expulsion of an alien from a country by an act of its government. The term is not applied ordinarily to sending a national into exile or to committing one convicted of crime to an overseas penal colony (historically called transportation).  is not the answer to anything. California needs workers and they are a very important part of our economy. If they are going to be in our state, there should be documentation of them being here. I feel very strongly about that. There are politically correct politically correct Politically sensitive adjective Referring to language reflecting awareness and sensitivity to another person's physical, mental, cultural, or other disadvantages or deviations from a norm; a person is not mentally retarded, but  ways of doing that. It is going to be convincing those people that they can be documented without being deported, which is the tough part.

It is extremely hard to legislate against desperation, but it is more in keeping with the spirit to legislate opportunities.
