Who's the boss? Check with mom.The Head of the House As superintendent in Daly City, Calif., Barbara Wilson makes it a point to visit classrooms with some regularity. In the school district of a previous superintendency, she visited a 2nd-grade classroom where one of the pupils was the daughter of a school board member. During an introduction to the class, the teacher told the class that Wilson was "the principal's boss." As she circulated throughout the room, it was clear the board member's daughter was impressed by the visitor's status. She asked Wilson, "Are you really the principal's boss?" "Yes, I am," Wilson replied. "But do you know who my boss is?" The girl shook her head so Wilson continued: "Your dad." The girl's eyes widened and she responded, "But have you met my mom?" |
