M. Michael Francese (photo), New York/New Jersey district manager for Parsons Brinckerhoff Quade & Douglas, Inc. (PB). has been elected to the board of directors of the Regional Plan Association (RPA), the nation's oldest and most influential independent regional planning organization. Since 1923, RPA has worked to improve life in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut region by creating long-term comprehensive plans and promoting their implementation across political boundaries. The organization takes positions on major current public policy issues and works with public and private sector interests to advance its agenda.

Francese has over 35 years of transportation management experience in areas such as policy and program development, planning. design construction and maintenance. As district manager, he is responsible for managing PB's operations in New York and New Jersey. Francese joined PB in 1994 following a 26-year career with the New York State Department of Transportation, during which he held such key positions as director of the New York City region and director of the agency's program planning and management group.

Ashforth Warburg, one of Manhattan's leading, luxury residential real estate brokerage firms, has recently announced a new addition to its talented team of brokers. Janet Greenberg (photo) has recently joined Ashforth Warburg as Director of New Business Development, announced Frederick Warburg Peters, president of Ashforth Warburg Associates.

"With her many years of experience managing brokers and deals, Janet has developed an astounding expertise in client services," said Peters. "Her broad base of relationships makes her suited to spearhead Ashforth's new business development division."

As Director of New Business Development, Greenberg will draw upon her substantial experience in client relations and business enhancement to expand the firm's focus on the marketing of high-end conversions and developments, especially in the downtown market.

A seasoned professional. Greenberg was previously the Director of Sales for Lawrence Properties. Prior to this position, she headed her own firm, J.G. Realty. for five years. She is recognized in the residential brokerage community for her continuous pursuit of excellence in servicing her clients, carving out a specialized niche for herself as a "Downtown Icon" for her stellar business improvement activities in the area since 1982.

Greenberg is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the Downtown Brokers Association. She currently resides in Manhattan.

The New York Mortgage Company. a Manhattan - based mortgage banker and broker announces the promotion of Eric Barron (photo) to Executive Vice President. NYMC, the product of a merger between New York Mortgage Corp. and First Security Financial Services is growing and expanding, extending its market reach. Barron will be responsible for the company's training and recruiting, as well as being intricately involved in its expansion into new territories.

Barron has a strong financial background and hands-on knowledge of the real estate markets. Starting in 1991, he originated mortgages throughout the tn-state area, where he was also involved with numerous non-profit associations. For years he worked diligently with New York City's real estate community promoting home ownership through educational seminars.

Most recently, Barron has been involved with some of New York's top real estate firms, where he leads a sales/behavioral seminar called "Selling with Style," based on an internationally known communications model called DISC. This seminar, given to over 1,000 brokers to date, teaches them how to identify their own behavioral style, as well as those of their buyers and sellers. As the company continues its national expansion, Barron will be offering this seminar to real estate firms throughout the country.

Barron is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, and has studied and lived abroad in England. He currently lives in Manhattan.

Thomas J. Saffioti (photo), a veteran construction professional with more than 23 years of field experience, has joined Nurminen Construction Corp. of Hawthorne. NJ as a Project Manager.

Earlier in his career, Saffioti was a co-owner of Construction Consultants based in North Haledon, NJ and before that, was the sole owner of Thomas Saffioti, Jr. Construction, Inc., a general contracting firm in Lavallette, NJ. Saffioti has been responsible for building a host of structures and commercial buildings, including many schools and church additions.

Glenn H. Isaacson (photo) has been named Senior Managing Director of Insignia/ESG's Midtown office. The announcement was made by Joseph R. Harbert, Chief Operating Officer of Insignia/ESG's New York Metro Region. Since joining Insignia/ESG in 1992, Isaacson has distinguished himself as one of New York City's leading brokers. During his career he has been responsible for leasing over 4 million square feet of commercial space with aggregate rentals that exceed $1 billion. His list of clients includes the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Walt Disney Corporation, Andrews & Kurth, Haines, Lundberg & WaIler, TSI/Worldcom (an Interpublic Group subsidiary), Berlitz, Inc., Ogden Services Corporation, Rhone Group, Ogilvy & Mather Direct, Ricoh Corporation and Xerox Corporation.

More recently, Isaacson competed a number of high-profile assignments, including a 98,000 square-foot relocation on behalf of PSM Insurance Companies, a 43,000 square-foot relocation for The Lord Group, and Einhorn, Yaffee & Prescott's 30,000 square-foot headquarters relocation.

Prior to joining Insignia/ESG, lsaacson was an Executive Director at Newmark & Company, where he had been employed for over 11 years.

Insignia Residential Group, one of New York's premier residential management firms, has appointed industry veteran Anthony Reinglas (photo) to the position of account executive. In this capacity, Reinglas will serve as the property manager for several luxury cooperative and condominium properties on Manhattan's Upper East Side. James V. O'Connor, senior vice president and executive managing director of Insignia Residential Group, made the announcement.

Prior to joining Insignia Residential Group, Reinglas was a property manager for Brooklyn-based Arco-Metro Management, where he specialized in the management of high-end cooperatives and condominiums.

A real estate professional for more than 12 years, Reinglas completed Registered Apartment Management (RAM) certification through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and is currently pursuing the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Reinglas is also the recipient of the 1999 Habitat Gold Management Achievement Award for effective property management. He is a resident of Staten Island, New York.

Jeff T. Blau (photo), who in 1989 as a University of Michigan undergraduate began working part-time at The Related Companies, L.P. - "just to see if I liked it" - has been named president of that company, one of the largest diversified real estate firms in America.

Blau, who will continue to jointly direct the firm's New York development division with David Wine, a Related vice chairman, has, over the past decade, supervised 25 new development projects worth over $2 billion and currently has another $2 billion worth of development in the pipeline, including the $1.6 billion Columbus Centre project at Columbus Circle.

Born and raised in Woodbury, N.Y., Blau earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1992. He is an active member of numerous professional and charitable organizations and currently serves on the board of directors of The Doe Fund, the 14th Street Local Development Corporation/Business Improvement District and the Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York (ABO). He is also an Adjunct Professor of Development and Finance at New York University.

Award-winning residential management firm John B. Lovett & Associates, Ltd., has announced the addition of veteran residential management professional Ellen C. Kornfeld (photo), NYARM, as vice president, and the establishment with Kornfeld of a Manhattan subsidiary - The Lovett Company, LLC. The announcement was made by Kenneth Lovett, president of John B. Lovett & Associates, Ltd.

Previously vice president and director of management for another Manhattan-based management organization, Kornfeld brings more than 12 of experience to her new position at Lovett & Associates. A highly-respected residential management expert and frequent lecturer for the New York cooperative and condominium community, Kornfeld has won numerous industry awards, including the Habitat Achievement Award and The Cooperator's Leadership in Management Award, both for her expertise in financial management and general effectiveness. Kornfeld is a New York Accredited Realty Manager and has served on the board of director of both the New York Association of Realty Managers (NYARM) and the Association of Cooperative and Condominium Managers (ACCM).

In her new position, Kornfeld will be the principal executive of The Lovett Company, LLC, a joint venture established specifically to oversee the growing Manhattan portfolio of Queens-based John B. Lovett & Associates.

Colliers ABR, Inc. has promoted Nicola M. Heryet (photo), one of the firms top brokers, to the position of Managing Director, where she will expand her work as a tenant representative for an array of institutional clients. She was formerly a Director of the firm.

A prolific broker for more than 16 years, Heryet joined Colliers ABR in 1996, after serving as senior director for Joseph Hilton Associates, Inc. During her career, she has negotiated leases aggregating over 3 million square feet of office space on behalf of clients such as The Limited, Rand McNally & Company, Alusuisse Lonza America, Boosey & Hawkes, Inc., Cellular Communications Inc., Fluor Corporation, Kellwood Company, Peterson Consulting Limited Partnership, and the YWCA of the U.S.A.

Extremely active in industry and civic activities, Heryet is a former Chairman of the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association, a former board member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), and currently serves on the New York board of the International Development Research Council (IDRC). A graduate of the university of Westminster, Heryet is on the Admissions Committee and the Rental Conditions Committee of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), and is a member of the Association For a Better New York. In 1998, she was the recipient of the Young Real Estate Woman of the Year award from the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association of New York, and the Galaxy Award from the New York Women's Agenda.
