Kennedy Funding, a leading national direct private commercial lender, has named Kevin S. Clark (photo) director of Marketing. A well-known figure in the commercial mortgage lending industry, Clark brings extensive expertise to his new position at Kennedy Funding.

"We're pleased to have Kevin rejoin our company and assume the key role of marketing director," said Jeffrey Wolfer, president of Kennedy Funding. "Kevin's expertise and reputation in the industry will be key factors in spreading the word about our capabilities in serving the needs of a diverse range of commercial borrowers."

Clark, who has more than 15 years of experience in the lending industry and has been involved in more than a quarter of a billion dollars in "hard money" commercial mortgage loans, previously served as an executive officer with Kennedy Funding for a number of years and left briefly to work for a competitor. In addition to his hands-on lending experience, Clark is an author of a manual on Kennedy's specialized commercial mortgage lending programs. He is a frequent speaker on behalf of The National Association of Mortgage Brokers, Crittenden's "Meet the Lenders" conferences and the American Cash Flow Association's Cash Flow Expos.

In 1998, The National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) recognized Clark for his role in developing their commercial mortgage symposium designed to educate NAMB members interested in commercial mortgage lending.

A New York City native, Clark attended Western New England College in Springfield, Mass., where be earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

Ippolito will work closely with president John Ciardullo to develop the strategic plan for the firm's innovative architectural, interior design and structural engineering services targeted at real estate developers, corporations and government agencies in the tri-state area. "I am confident that with the addition of Ms. Ippolito to our team, the firm's 30-year well respected reputation will move forcefully into the new millennium," says Ciardullo.

Over the past six years, Ippolito played a key role in building the relationships that grew the office of Marvin H. Meltzer from a three-person firm to an organization of 30 employees. Her prior experience includes business development at a corporate interiors firm and position as regional marketing manager for Wang Laboratories, where she spearheaded the design of a world-class executive briefing center in NYC.

Jeffrey M. Levy (photo), president and COO of EMCOR Group, Inc., has been named chairman of the New York Building Congress, a coalition of contractors, architects, engineers, and labor that Includes more than 150,000 professionals and skilled workers employed in and around New York City. For over 78 years, this coalition has helped shape public policy with the goal of supporting and maintaining New York's economic improvement.

At EMCOR, Levy has been instrumental in helping to build the company into one of the largest providers of mechanical and electrical construction and facilities services in the world. With 1999 global revenues of nearly $2.9 billion., EMCOR maintains operations in over 80 locations throughout the U.S., Canada and U.K., including Forest Electric, Penguin Air Conditioning, Welsbach Electric and Heritage Air Systems in the New York area.

As chairman of the Building Congress, Levy's management and industry expertise will help shape the organization's agenda and continue its rich and distinguished history of leadership on behalf of key constituencies in design, construction and real estate.

Prior to his association with EMCOR, Levy was executive vice president and COO of Lehrer McGovern Bovis and vice president and director of Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation. Levy is a licensed professional engineer and holds an MBA in Finance from New York University and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The City College of New York.

In addition to his work with the Building Congress, he volunteers his time, efforts and talents to the Construction Industry Roundtable and the Engineering School Advisory Board of the City College of New York and serves as president of the board of directors for Nontraditional Employment for Women.

Charles H. Greenthal & Co., a full-service real estate firm based in New York City, has announced the appointment of Lori Berti (photo) as managing director of the Charles H. Greenthal Sales Corp.

A 30-year real estate veteran, Berti will train new agents, oversee the Relocation Department, and help develop an e-commerce plan for Charles H. Greenthal.

Most recently, Berti served as director of Relocation Services and Broker Manager for Acocella & Company, a boutique relocation-oriented real estate firm in Manhattan. She was also a marketing and sales director for a large real estate company in Fairfield County, CT.

"Lori has initiated several projects and systems to bring Greenthal's commitment to integrity and excellence in customer service to the forefront of every transaction and program within the company," said Joyce West, director of Sales for Charles H. Greenthal & Co. "She is spearheading a 'Greening of New York' campaign and has organized an annual 'thank you' event celebrating agents from cooperating agencies."

Charles Kramer (photo) has been promoted to the post of president of Brookhill Management Corp., the property management affiliate of The Brookhill Group and Brookhill Redevelopment LLC.

The appointment was announced by Ronald B. Bruder, chairman of The Brookhill Group.

Brookhill Redevelopment is one of the nation's leading redevelopers of brownfields, which are real estate sites impaired by toxic contaminants.

Kramer has been with the Brookhill family of companies for the past 14 years. He formerly held the post of executive vice president of Brookhill Management Corp.

"Charlie richly deserves this promotion," Bruder says. "We're in a tough business, and his superb property management skills have been an important factor in the success of both of our firms."

Kramer's current responsibilities include overseeing remediation of contaminated sites and re-marketing of major redevelopment projects, including those underway in Cleveland and Sarasota. Recently completed projects include the conversion of a troubled shopping mall into a fully-leased call center office facility in Memphis, and the successful redevelopment of two industrial brownfields properties in North Carolina.

Kramer began his real estate career at Schroeder Real Estate Co. as a vice president. He later served as president of Concord Assets Management Corp., also a real estate firm, before joining Brookhill Group in 1986.

A resident of the New York area, Kramer is a graduate of the City University of New York's Baruch School of Business. He resides in the Nassau County community of Hewlett, on Long Island.

Boston Properties, a real estate investment trust, has announced the promotion of Tom Hill (photo) to senior vice president of property management from vice president in the New York regional office of Boston Properties.

Hill has been with Boston Properties since 1985. He played a key role in the commissioning of 599 Lexington Avenue, the company's first New York development. His responsibilities have grown dramatically with the addition of 875 Third Avenue and 280 Park Avenue to the New York office portfolio, along with 90 Church Street, master-leased from the U.S. Postal Service.

Demonstrating his leadership and the ability to take over large properties and oversee the management and staffing of a growing portfolio of first class properties with a high level of tenant satisfaction, Hill was recently elected to the BOMA/NY board of directors, and 599 Lexington Avenue was named 1999 Operating Building of the Year by BOMA.

W. Joshua Levering (photo), managing director of Newmark & Company Real Estate, Inc. and a 20-year veteran of the real estate industry, has been awarded the designation of Specialist, Industrial and Office Real Estate (SIOR) by the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS of the National Association of REALTORS. The SIOR designation bestowed only to industry experts who have met rigorous standards of knowledge and professional conduct.
