Whitestone reaches benchmark of $200 million in M & A transactions.


Whitestone Communications Inc. president Baran S. Rosen has announced that his investment banking firm, now in its seventh year, has completed more than $200 million in mergers and acquisitions involving major companies in publishing, information and human resources/training.

"We continue to help company owners maximize the value of their businesses through wellmanaged sales as well as represent buyers in securing strategic acquisitions," Rosen said. "In 2000, we managed our first international transactions with deals closed in Canada and the U.K. as well as the U.S."

Rosen also said that Eugene Gartlan, former CFO See Chief Financial Officer.  of Thomson Information Publishing Group, has joined Whitestone as managing director. Other principals include senior advisor In some countries, a Senior Advisor is an appointed position by the Head of State to advise on the highest levels of national and government policy. Sometimes a junior position to this is called a National Policy Advisor.  Walter D. Serwatka, managing director Katherine Norwood, and senior associate Susan Isserman.

Among its transactions in 2000 were three acquisitions by Worldly Informaton Network Inc., including Gerald Perritt's Mutual Fund Letter.

Whitestone also represented Transport Technology Publishing in its sale to Scientific American Newsletters LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.
