White fires 63 to break marks.

Byline: REGIONAL ROUNDUP by The Register-Guard

CORVALLIS - Jimmy White wasn't officially part of Oregon's lineup Friday, but he is part of the Ducks' record book after setting school, course and tournament records with a 9-under-par 63 at the Northwest Collegiate Classic at Trysting Tree Origins of the name

It was White's best finish as a collegian, but it didn't count toward the Ducks' team score because he was competing as an individual.

White's round broke the school record of 64 set by Ryan LaVoie at Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz., in 1999 and matched by Chris Carnahan at the same course last year.

As a team, Oregon didn't play quite as well, falling to a tie for fourth place at 869 after a final-round 298, the worst score among its three rounds.

UC Irvine closed with an 11-under 277 to finish at 846 for a 15-stroke victory over Long Beach State.
