: WPNE), a leading provider of web-based internetworking software solutions for the Internet, Intranets and Extranets, announced WebTerm X(TM), the world's first browser-based X Window Display Server for Windows 95 and Windows NT compatible computers. WebTerm X complements White Pines leadership role in X Server technology and contains a broad range of functionality focused on delivering the most important benefits of X technology to the desktop through the browser interface.

"WebTerm X is exciting to end-users and system administrators alike because it facilitates host application access through Web pages," said Steve Parsons, Product Marketing Manager at White Pine. "This centralizes administrative functions, simplifies configuration, and makes it the easiest and most revolutionary application to be introduced in this market space."

Scott Haley, Network Engineer at McDonnell Douglas McDonnell Douglas was a major American aerospace manufacturer and defense contractor, producing a number of famous commercial and military aircraft. It merged with Boeing in 1997 to form The Boeing Company.  Corporation comments, "A package that will allow you to open an X Window session through your web browser The program that serves as your front end to the Web on the Internet. It is something that we are looking to implement in a program for our customers. This has the possibility to simplify a users desktop interface considerably, which is extremely positive for our support team."

With WebTerm X, system administrators distribute X applications to users by changing configurations on a central Web page. Desktop computer users browse WebTerm X "pages" with Navigator or Explorer and are connected to the host in the way that the administrator had intended.
