Under the agreement, Unisys will market WhereNet's Real-Time Locating System (RTLS) solutions into various military installations worldwide to track and locate assets and cargo in real time, enabling faster deployment of troops, support materials, and supplies under tight time constraints. This agreement strengthens the partnership between WhereNet and Unisys, originally established through a co-marketing agreement in March 2000.

Unisys plans to leverage WhereNet's real-time locating and tracking technology as part of its ongoing logistics initiative with the United States Department of Defense (DOD). The joint offering by WhereNet and Unisys will enable the DOD to reduce search and dwell times for critical military equipment and cargo, enhance operational efficiencies, and expedite the deployment of assets at military bases. Instant access to real-time information about the location and status of military assets will result in the dual benefit of lower operating costs and streamlined "rapid crisis response" operations for the U.S. armed forces around the world.
