The National MS Society's Board of Directors has commissioned the prestigious, private, nonprofit A corporation or an association that conducts business for the benefit of the general public without shareholders and without a profit motive.

Nonprofits are also called not-for-profit corporations. Nonprofit corporations are created according to state law.
 Institute of Medicine at the National Academy of Sciences to analyze the multiple sclerosis field. A study group of scientists and physicians from academia, industry, and independent research institutions has been created to review current scientific knowledge worldwide and to recommend strategic plans for future research both in laboratories and in people with MS.
