Where are they NOW? THE X FACTOR JUST HOW LONG WAS THEIR 15 MINUTES..
THE X Factor reaches the boot camp stage tonight, with the latest bunch of pop wannabes all praying it will be their ticket to everlasting glory.
But for some of those who sparkled on the many talent shows spawned by Popstars in 2000, their 15 minutes of fame was just that.
So which finalists from the various series of Pop Idol, Popstars: The Rivals and X Factor did Lady Luck continue smiling on?
Here we see who has remained in the limelight. And whose bubble just went, erm, pop...
HEAR' SAY's old one million copies of their debut single Pure And Simple, then it all turned sour and they split 18 months later. Popstars rejects Liberty X were labelled Flopstars, but have enjoyed far more success than their rivals.
KYM, 30, flopped as a solo singer, but has risen from Hear'Say ashes as an actress in Coronation Street. Married to former EastEnder Jack Ryder.
MYLEENE, 28, fronted ITV1's CD:UK before it was cancelled and now presents The All-Star Talent Show on Channel Five.
SUZANNE, 25, appeared in TV's Worst Celebrity Driver. Her fiance Darren Day walked out on her and their baby son, Corey, in 2005.
HIT hard by the split, Danny, 27, resurfaced in panto before taking part in Channel 4's The Games last year.
NOEL, 26, has found success on stage, touring in shows such as Grease and Fame. Recently appeared on TV's Trust Me I'm A Holiday Rep.
JESSICA, 26, had a high profile romance with Hollyoaks actor Stuart Manning and is engaged to Test cricketer Kevin Pietersen.
THE most fame-hungry of Liberty X, Michelle, 26, has appeared in a string of reality TV shows, including the universally panned Celebrity Wrestling.
KEVIN, 26, starred in Channel 4's The Games in 2005 and won the silver medal. This year he was in Celebrity Daredevils.
RELUCTANT celeb Tony, 27, lives quietly with his fashion designer girlfriend Kelly. They met while working on Lord Of The Dance.
KELLI, 25, showed her talents by co-writing hits Thinking It Over and Holding On For You as well as several album tracks.
POPSTARS: THE RIVALS
THE show pitted a girl band managed by Louis Walsh against a boy band guided by Pete Waterman. Girls Aloud won - hands down. They are now the UK's most successful all-girl group with 12 consecutive Top 10 hits and three best-selling albums.
The most high-profile band member is Cheryl Tweedy, 23, who married Chelsea's Ashley Cole this summer. She is also a favourite pin-up in lads' mags, as is 24-year-old Kimberley Walsh.
Lucky old Nadine Coyle, 21, is dating Desperate Housewives hunk Jesse Metcalfe. Nicola Roberts, 20, is still with her long-term boyfriend, Carl Egerton. Sarah Harding, 24, is the only singleton...
Javine Hylton, 24, who just failed to make it into Girls Aloud, launched a solo career with mixed success. She has just signed a new record deal with dance label Positiva and is currently starring in Daddy Cool in the West End.
ONE TRUE VOICE
THEIR two singles both made it into the Top 10, but the boys disbanded shortly afterwards - fed-up with being a laughing stock.
Daniel Pearce, 27, has achieved most since then. He made his West End debut in Jailhouse Rock and worked as a drummer with Lemar, Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden.
Jamie Shaw, 21, has appeared on Welsh reality TV show Cariad@Laith and spent the last year gigging in Germany. Anton Gordon, 23, and Matthew Johnson, 20, both auditioned for The X Factor, but failed to make the boot camp.
FOUR of the girl band rejects got together as Clea, but they have failed to take off.
Still, Lynsey Brown, 23, Aimee Kearsley, 20, and Emma Beard, 22, are soldiering on. Their latest effort, Lucky Like That, released independently last June, only made it to No.55. And their album reached the dire position of No.258.
Fourth member Chloe Staines, 22, sensibly deserted the sinking ship early on and joined rival band Fierce. That didn't last long either.
FORMED from the rejected finalists, Phixx had limited success before splitting up last year.
They are still popular abroad, especially in South Africa where there is talk of them taking part in Celebrity Big Brother.
None are currently in the music biz. Peter Smith, 29, was last heard of working in a bank. Nikk Mager, 22, and Mikey Green, 25 - famous for a romance with Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding - have both enjoyed success as male models.
WITH two Brit awards, two sell-out tours and three top-selling albums, 27-year-old Will is the most successful artist of all the musical reality TV shows. He beat Gareth Gates and the other finalists (below) to win the first Pop Idol.
THE Pop Idol runner-up sold three million singles before Sony BMG dumped him. Now with Meridien Musik, the 22-year-old's "working on new material".
HIS debut single hit number one and his album went platinum. The 26-year-old has also played Billy Flynn in the West End's Chicago.
ZOE'S debut single Treat Me Like a Lady flopped and she was dumped her record label. The 21-year-old starred in panto at Darlington Civic Theatre last year.
THE Welsh lass, 23, went on to support Blue and Liberty X on tour. But after her first two singles flopped, she was dropped by Telstar.
DUBBED the People's Champion, Geordie train driver Aaron, 30, now has his own band and record label. He's also proud dad to son Presley.
PLAYED Sandra Dee in the West End's Grease and the 30-year-old went on to be a host of the ITV2 spin-off for Popstars: The Rivals.
THE 25-year-old came third representing the UK at Eurovision 2002, is releasing a single next year and will be at Wembley's Girl Guides' Big Gig next month.
HAVING graduated from the Magee Centre for Creative and Performing Arts, the 24-year-old has apppeared in sofa adverts.
RIK'S Mighty Soul Band played the summer season at Butlin's. Which is more success than the 32-stone lad had on Celebrity Fit Club - where he was booted off.
REAL name Chris Niblett, Korben, 26 - a former contestant on Mr Gay UK - went on to TV presenting on a shopping channel.
POP IDOL 2
THE 26-year-old's debut single went to No.1 but her second only got to 16.
She then did a You Are What You Eat special and has since lost eight stone.
Michelle has appeared on ITV1's Loose Women, presents a Scottish radio show and plans to release a single and album before Xmas.
THE 24-year-old has formed a hit TV team with Sam Nixon. At one time, he'd been set to wed Pop Idol 1 's Zoe Birkett.
THE vicar lives on... with a raunchy(ish) new image. Chris, 21, gigs up and down the country (albeit at small venues and under-18s nights).
PRIOR to the show, he spent a year in jail for theft and assault. The Scot, 26, now lives in Essex, does panto and sings in clubs.
THE committed Christian, 24, wed rocker Andrew Courtney and took her husband's surname. She co-hosts Radio Berkshire's breakfast show.
AFTER Sam, 20, had a No.1 with Mark Rhodes, the pair went on to be groomed as the new Ant & Dec by the BBC.
THE blond Irishman, 27, has done panto and now fronts Saturday morning Irish kids' TV show Sattitude. He dotes on his six-year-old daughter, Chloe.
THE plump mum-of-three, 26, was never really a contender. She returned home to Grimsby and now presents her own show on local radio station Compass FM.
REALITY TV regular Andy, 26, is taking part in Sky One's The
Match and is due to marry Michelle Heaton next month.
THE Hull teenager, 19, finished a creditable sixth place. But a rumoured part in Coronation Street never materialised...
FIRST single, Against All Odds, hit No.1, but then it all went a bit - flat for Steve, 37.
His latest single released this month flopped - but he has an album, 40,000 Things, out and is on a national tour.
SHE secured a record deal after the show and released a self-titled album. The 40-year-old is currently working on new material and plans to release a second album soon.
TABBY, 25, is currently touring with his band The Tsars. He has a new record deal and a single Take A Swing is due to be released next month.
MAKING music which can be heard via her myspace page, Roberta, 25, still found the time to plug a brand of razors, shaving her legs in the street for the cause.
THE little girl with the big voice, Cassie, 19, is now acting. She was in Little Women and panto last year and is set to appear in BBC1's Casualty.
GONE back to being a singing coach but Verity, 52, still performs sometimes. Her last show was in June when she sang in aid of Grimsby's Cambridge Park School.
VOICES WITH SOUL
THE lasses from Luton are still going... although not filling arenas. The mum, daughter and auntie are available for private parties. An album is in the pipeline, apparently.
THEY lost out to Steve Brookstein, but the operatic quartet were the real winners of X Factor. Their debut album went to No.1 on Mother's Day last year. Their third album is due for release this Christmas.
MAINLY remembered for not being very good. Their ultra-glam highlight of I 2006 was topping the bill ' at Mansfield Council's celebration of the opening of the town's new-look marketplace.
X FACTOR 2
DEBUT song That's My Goal went in at No.1 and his album hit the top too. But new song Stand By Me limped in at No.
THE beautiful teenager with the soulful voice is gigging in the UK and has just completed a summer season at Butlins.
THE 20-year-old released her debut single Reason recently. Hit the news earlier this month after revealing she'd had her drink spiked on a night out.
STILL out there doing his thing but apart from the odd gig (one with Chico), the 22-year-old's diary looks pretty empty.
HIS debut album went to number two but now it's all gone rather flat for Andy, 42. Ticket sales for his October tour have been poor.
MANAGED to bag a West End role as Mama Morton in Chicago where she is starring opposite Ashlee Simpson.
SIGNED with Sony but her summer single, Sleepwalking, only reached No.20 in the charts. Her debut album failed to break the Top 40 too.
HIS debut single It's Chico Time went to No.1. But his follow-up DISCO didn't make the Top 20 this summer.
THE Milddlesbrough brothers' debut album went straight to No.1 and they are about to embark on a nationwide tour.
THE Irish girls have gone their separate ways. However blonde Laura is now pursuing a solo career.
THE cheesy boy band have spent the summer touring Pontin's summer camps. Also performed at LEGOLAND Windsor.
Stil together but any music plans are on hold while the girls study for their A - levels.
