When You Need Water on the Run.

The Village Marine Aqua Pack 400 is a self-contained reverse osmosis water purification unit (ROWPU). It is designed for use in military operations, remote base camps and disaster relief missions, where full-sized units are not available. The unit can be transported by one person, using the backpack mounting base. Set-up and water production, says the manufacturer, can be accomplished in five minutes. The system is supposed to remove biological, nuclear and most chemical contaminants from feed water, and it can produce more than 13 gallons an hour. It comes with a low-maintenance, four-stroke gasoline engine.

The water is fed through an inline filter to a high-pressure pump that pushes it through a membrane system that filters out the product water from the discharge.
