Part Two of the book offers the reader a look at the positive influence that quality care can have in the lives of young children. Philosophically, this section, divided into three parts, offers parents an understanding of why children in quality care tend to be further ahead cognitively than their peers who were cared for at home.

Part One offers a historical reference; the author's research-based glimpse into the future can be found in Part Three.
