What to WATCH.
Holby City (BBC1, 8pm) There's trouble brewing on the wards
tonight, as nurses Donna and Maria, both apply for the same job. Mark is
also considering a new post, after it was recommended he apply for the
job of CEO. Meanwhile, Oliver starts his new job, and manages to make
his sister Penny feel about two inches tall. He tells boss Connie that
his sister had an affair with a patient, and as Penny quite rightly
points out, "Who needs enemies when I've got a brother like
you?" The Story of Science-Power, Proof and Passion (BBC2, 9pm)
Michael Mosley tries to answer that old age question "How did we
get here?" He studies the connections between geology and biology
and in particular how people first grasped the idea of "deep
time" and inferred changes that had taken place over millions of
years. He explores the contribution to our understanding made by ocean
adventurers, French aristocrats and a ridiculed German meteorologistwith
a passing reference to Charles Darwin.

threatening his estranged wife Zoe. As if Luther didn't have enough
to worry about somebody is cold-bloodedly killing police officers, and
as the police close ranks the detective puts himself in the firing line
in a desperate attempt to draw out the killer.
