What have you done for you lately? NAMA leader's message: Mike Gustafson, John Deere, 2003-2004 NAMA President. So here you are, facing another day of obligations. You gotta work. Then the kids need traipsed all over to various practices or games. Plus your church needs volunteers. The school needs volunteers. Other community organizations need volunteers. All are very worthy causes. Kind of overwhelming isn't it? So what have you done for you lately? Let me suggest attending a NAMA Na·ma n. pl. Nama or Na·mas 1. A member of a people of southwest Africa. 2. The Khoikhoin language of the Nama. meeting, or serving on a NAMA chapter board or committee, or helping out with a NAMA function, or simply sending some ideas to your chapter careers, membership, programs, or planning committees. Whoa! Isn't this just more work? Yes, a little more, but the rewards are great. Because you'll be doing something that will help YOU. You'll be interacting with others in the Ag marketing and communications business. And all this interaction works to strengthen this industry, helping attract people entering the workforce. Whether you work in an agency, Ag media, or Ag company, do yourself a favor ... belong to, and participate in, NAMA. A strong association leads to a healthy industry for you and your company. Last, but not least. This is my last leader message. During seven years on the Executive Committee, I've had the pleasure to work alongside some of the best in the business. There are just no finer people on the lace of this earth. Together, we have faced challenges and will continue to. As I mentioned above, your participation in this organization is essential to the well-being of NAMA, the health of the industry, and your future.
