Blogging is a method of assembling and accumulating links to web pages and sharing, so that you can exchange ideas with others online.

A blog (or a weblog) is nothing but a method of maintaining a journal or a diary online. It can be great for sharing opinions, information, comments and ideas.

A ?logbook? was originally a book for recording readings from the log, and was used to determine the distance a ship traveled within a certain amount of time. Then the word ?weblog? was coined by Jorn Barger, owner of the long-established and extremely popular Robot Wisdom weblog.

Before the internet, people communicated with each other via letters, telephone, and faxes, but now with the advent of the internet, channels of communication are much faster. Emails and online chatting have made it possible for people to make new friends and to maintain regular contact, and letters and pen pals now are a thing of the past.

In the 1990s, the blog was born! In the beginning, blogs, they were mainly online diaries of people and others could comment on them and communicate with them. Now there are different kinds of blogs. They are still blogs which are used as a digital journal, and there are also corporate blogs, marketing blogs, topic-specific blogs, private blogs, and even blogs that are simply blog search engines!

Apart from text, blogs can also contain images, music, audio and videos. They are easy to set up. You can have your own personal blog if you want to post your comments for your friends and family to read, comment and enjoy. You can attach a picture or an audio/video file and post it. Anything can be posted instantly on a blog.

When people surf the net and find something interesting, they feel like leaving a comment for others to read, and start or continue a thread of communication.
Blogs are a novel way to know what others think of a particular subject and also to assess thought patterns and trends.

Individuals can, even if they do not have sufficient technical skills, start their own blog where they can publish their comments, add favorite links to be shared, and convert it into a daily journal of thoughts and ideas and at the same time make it all publicly available to the whole world. Larger organizations use blogs as a tool for receiving feedback and comments from users and clients.

However, your success totally depends on how best you can create a communication channel with your readers. Always try to ask questions so that you can get answers. You can also ask your readers to site their experiences on the topics you raised. You can also ask your readers how they value your blog and ask for their suggestions.

For good readership you have to come up with real real topics that are amazing. Once you are done with the stock you have, it becomes difficult to get good content and then the task becomes challenging. But don?t get frustrated. Blog posts are the places for chatting so it is easy for you to come up with your ideas. Never assume that blog posts require a great technical skill of a news paper editor or a press reporter. You can use the best vocabulary you have in store with you and they can be very formal.
