Yo-Yo Ma has teamed up with choreographer Mark Morris as part of the cellist's Silk Road Project Silk Road Project, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization, initiated by acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma in 1998, promoting collaboration among artists and institutions, promoting multicultural artistic exchange, and studying the ebb and flow of ideas among different cultures along the , an exploration of the music of the regions bordering the ancient Europe-to-Asia trade route. If you thrill to the sound of a duduk, dutar, ghijak, or komuz--or even if you've never heard these traditional Central Asian instruments--Smithsonian Folkways offers two CDs of appetite-whetting music. In honor of the late Dame Ninette de Valois Dame Ninette de Valois, OM, CH, DBE (June 6, 1898 – March 8, 2001) was the founder of London's renowned Royal Ballet. Born Edris Stannus in Baltiboys, County Wicklow, Ireland, Stannus began dancing in 1908 at age ten, and became noticed throughout England because of , founder of the Sadler's Wells Ballet (later The Royal Ballet), these two CDs offer the scores of four ballets that she choreographed: The Haunted Ballroom (1934), The Rake's Progress (1935), Checkmate (1937), and The Prospect Before Us (1940). The scores by Geoffrey Toye, Gavin Gordon, Sir Arthur Bliss, and William Boyce are performed by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia The Royal Ballet Sinfonia is the Orchestra of Birmingham Royal Ballet.

The Sinfonia appears with Birmingham Royal Ballet in its home town, in London and around the UK, and frequently appears with The Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House and on tour.

Esmeralda: Music From the Ballet by Cesare Pugni

La Esmeralda, a three-act ballet retelling of the story of The Hunchback hunchback, abnormal outward curvature of the spine in the thoracic region. It is also known as kyphosis and humpback, and in its severe form a noticeable hump is evident on the back.  of Notre Dame, premiered in London in 1844. The tale of the hunchback Quasimodo's doomed love for the Gypsy gift Esmeralda was choreographed by Jules Joseph Perrot to a score by Cesare Pugni (one of his 312 ballets). This CD presents more than an hour of Pugni's music, performed by the Odessa Symphony Orchestra of Opera and Ballet under Igor Shavruk.

The American composer Garrett Fisher has based his hourlong "dance opera" on the last days of More, the English statesman who defied King Henry VIII and was executed in 1535 (a tale also recounted in the play and movie A Man for All Seasons This article is about the play. A Man for All Seasons is a play by Robert Bolt. An early form of the play had been written for BBC Radio in 1954, but after Bolt's success with
