What's cooking? (Letters to the Editor).I would appreciate hearing from any UEs who would be willing to share with me the recipes of their Loyalist loyalist American colonist loyal to Britain in the American Revolution. About one-third of American colonists were loyalists, including officeholders who served the British crown, large landholders, wealthy merchants, Anglican clergy and their parishioners, and Quakers. ancestors who came to what is now Southern Ontario. I have been researching and writing about heritage recipes in Canada, and am attempting to set the record straight on the various foods which our American neighbours claim as exclusively theirs, but which were part of the life of the earliest settlers in Ontario. These are our foods too! The more information about food and recipes that I can glean glean v. gleaned, glean·ing, gleans v.intr. To gather grain left behind by reapers. v.tr. 1. I am also aware of the cookbook (programming) cookbook - (From amateur electronics and radio) A book of small code segments that the reader can use to do various magic things in programs. One current example is the "PostScript Language Tutorial and Cookbook" by Adobe Systems, Inc (Addison-Wesley, ISBN , Dora's Cook Book by Dora Fairfield of Kingston, published in 1888. Dora was of Loyalist ancestry, and her book contains Loyalist recipes, but I have not seen a copy. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Mary F.
